Sunday marked the second and final day for the petitePARADE. With show after show, we were overwhelmed by all the super chic, sophisticated styles strutting down the runway! Bonnie Young had a marvelous display of floral head wear and form fitting silhouettes for the girls; definitely adding to its high end, fashion forward look. Ballerina inspired dresses, blouses and blazers with gorgeous shoulder and collar detail, and puffed silk jumpers flooded the collection, which was a-okay with us! The boys looked extra dashing in velvet suits, a refreshing veer from wool.
The Bonnie Young show was working so many trends, but one that we were super obsessed with was the sock paired with an open foot shoe. It proved that no fad is out of bounds for children’s fashion.
Cool, confident, with some trendy swag, the boys rocked these velvet suits all the way down the runway!
The rest of the shows followed suit (no pun intended) with this super elegant, urban chic wear. It was actually surprising, since children’s clothing is usually associated with playful patterns and bright colors. But hey, if the designers wanna go upscale, we will go there with them!
The ICE Iceberg show primarily featured boy’s wear, with comfortable trousers, playful varsity jackets, and refined sneakers and boots. Balancing pops of color without overwhelming the look, ICE Iceberg executed a relaxed show while presenting stylish outfits.
Silvan Heach had the girls rockin’ earthy tones—light browns, mustard yellows, and deep peaches, which definitely gave the clothes a cool, effortless vibe. The looks were put together in layered-heaven with knitted sweaters, puffer vests, and sweater shirts. AKA we loved it.
Once the 5 o’clock hour rolled by, we returned to Industria Superstudio to watch the final show featuring Andy & Evan, Beatrix New York, Cupcakes & Pastries, Isabel et Toi, Kissy Kissy, Pimalinda, Reina Mora, Snopea, SUOAK, Umi, Zutano, and Zuzii. Compared to the muted palettes from before, these collections were booming with colors just as bedazzling as the sparkling runway!
The girls came down as JT’s “Suit and Tie” started playing.
We were absolutely obsessed with these looks!
Annex Digital Editor Hannah Harris and cofounder of petitePARADE Gina Rizzo posing on the runway!
And of course we couldn’t resist getting a pic with the one and only celebrity stylist June Ambrose!
A weekend purely dedicated to children and their fashion, petitePARADE was nothing but a pure joy to be a part of. With a huge thank you to petitePARADE for allowing Annex to go back stage, we chatted up with Megan Gage—founder of the organic children’s hairline Hot Tot— and Patricia Dente, founder of the kids-friendly nail polish line Little BU. There was not one detail of the weekend not centered on the young ones; a true testament to the hard work put into this event. Oh, and we couldn’t forget about nine year old DJ Fulano who took charge of the music and kid reporters Tristin and Tyler capturing each happening of the weekend. petitePARADE captured the energy of being young: the outfits were playfully chic, the audience was supportive and loving, and most importantly, we all had fun.
