According to WWD, genius designer, writer, and most currently film director, Karl Lagerfeld will be teaching a master class at the prestigious Paris Institute of Sciences Po (Political Science)! Aside from the fact that 600 lucky students (100 of those will be invite only) will sit in with THE Mr. Lagerfeld, the two hour class will mostly consist of the designer’s story as a designer and Q&A’s with the help of editor-in-chief of Next Magazine, Françoise-Marie Santucci.
The class will be held in the school’s Grand Amphitheater on November 19th.
If 1990′s phenomenon Clueless and grunge’s favorite Kurt Cobain has a fashion baby it’d be Amanda Seyfried for the cover of Glamour Paris; compliments to the talented stylist Virgine Benarroch featuring designs of Acne Studios, Azzedine Alaia, Givenchy, amongst many others. Rolling deep into the end of June, and I can use a
little lot of fashion inspiration these days. As the Spring 2014 season wraps up in Paris, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Couture, which if you ask me, seems like one giant fashion tease, but worth the wait for the sake of staring into my laptop watching live feeds all day. And if there’s any moment of Fashion Week that we aversely miss -say, because we simply cannot spend all hours of the day living vicariously through style.com (although we’d like to)- we can luckily look to Street Style Photographer, Tommy Ton for all of the action off of the catwalk! And as of lately, the get-ups outside of the shows seem to be calling just as much, if not more attention than the actual presentations. Here’a a look at some of the most compelling street style looks from the Menswear Shows in Milan, and Paris. Just in time to get you pumped for Couture!

British born, Paris-based singer, songwriter and producer Dan Black is making a big return this summer with the pop monster ‘Hearts’ featuring and co-written with American R&B/Pop icon Kelis. The video has been unveiled today exclusively on mtvU, MTV Buzzworthy and mtvU.com
The single is taken from his forthcoming (yet to be titled) album and is due for release in North America later this year.
Since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ((un)), the two-time VMA nominee has been holed up in his Paris studio intensively perfecting his 2nd album, whilst simultaneously producing and writing for and with other artists: from big names like Ryan Tedder, Kid Cudi (for Kanye West’s Cruel Summer), Kelis, Imogen Heap and Bag Raiders to new, exciting, ones-to-watch like Mikky Ekko (We Must Be Killers), Rozzi Crane and Sophie Delila. The music video was shot in a beautiful 24 hour human time-lapse, on a rooftop in Paris. From 11 am to 11 pm it was a non -stop shoot!

What better way to end Paris Fashion Week than with one of my absolute favorite designers, Elie Saab! There is just something about the simplicity of his designs that makes the collection so elegant. The beading in the fabrics of the evening gowns is just jaw dropping.
The lengthy models walked down a sleek black runway as the song “I Love You” by Woodkid played to begin the show. The set up of this show and the intensity from the models left the audience in complete awe. While other designers make their collections to be a bit over-the-top at times, Elie Saab knows how to make everything look absolutely perfect. There are so many “little details” in each gown that he doesn’t need to do anything else to make them stand out. There has never been a time where I have thought that he was trying too hard. He never ceases to amaze us.
Elie Saab Fun Fact: He became an overnight success after Halle Berry announced that she was wearing his design at the 74th Academy Awards.
Feel like watching yesterday’s show of Elie Saab’s Fall 2013 collection? Watch it here!
According to Refinery 29, the red sole king will in fact be mentoring in the Paris College of Arts class of 2013. I bet many of you are raging in jealousy!
["The red-sole maestro has met with the final year students and given them a theme to inspire their work. We won’t find out what that is until May, but the college has said that he did encourage the students warmly, saying, “be true to yourself.” ]
This is an important message that Louboutin says to these students. Simply being true to yourself will diminish any factors and break all barriers many of us face through whichever career path we’re in. Especially in fashion, many students don’t trust their own intuition and lack self-confidence.
Maison Kitsune will be opening their first store in Tokyo! If you’re wondering about the concept, the Maison Kitsune store will feature a cafe alongside including Japanese inspired elements like mats and fabulous sliding bamboo doors. The store will host a party in Tokyo’s Aoyama district on February 14, 2013.
["For our Maison Kitsuné shops in Tokyo, I kept in mind the architecture of our Paris stores, which carry a strong Haussmann style, to which I added some touches of traditional Japanese materials," Kuroki said.]
["In line with the Parisian concept, Maison Kitsuné Tokyo consists of two different shops: one featuring the Maison Kitsuné collections, and another which is a Café Kitsuné, where Kitsuné label records, Kitsuné Tee and Parisien lines will be available."]
In homage to the Valentine’s Day holiday, the brand deciding to launch their two “pied-à-terre” on the 14th in Tokyo is a bright strategic plan. In respect to Maison Kitsuna, their store and cafe idea takes adapting to a different fashion capital seriously, especially in savvy fashion thriving cities like Tokyo, where people can enjoy some tea or coffee, shopping, and music from the Kitsuna heritage.
Looks like H&M will be featuring their very own runway show!! This exciting news just hit web and fashionistas already are raving about the details!
According to WWD, the runway show will be hosted in the Musee Rodin February 27, 2013. Where – Paris fashion week! With an 8 year span since H&M’s last runway show all eyes will be glued to see what the Swed fast fashion juggernauts present.
[A rep for H&M, told WWD, "We felt excited about the collection and we really wanted to show it." Another spokesperson explained to Fashionista, "In the past we have done fantastic and spectacular events and fashion shows with our designer collaborations and we feel it is time to celebrate our own fashion."]
For many, the collection is a great business idea given that the Anna Dello Russo and Maison Martin Margiela collections failed to sell. H&M is determined to start focusing on just H&M, the company, the brand. Why not? This will be revolutionary for fast-fashion retailers and Paris Fashion week. It’ll also be an exciting stepping stone in fashion that will entertain and give the retailer the ‘High Fashion’ credibility they’ve attempted to attain with their collaborations . Move over Topman, looks like H&M is coming for you!
