Angelina Jolie as Malificent (in theaters May 30) has already blown our minds, but now she’s teaming up with Stella McCartney?!? It’s true. The duo are working with Disney on creating a collection inspired by the film for children ages four to 14, and this is not a first for McCartney. Back in 2010 Stella McCartney teamed up with Disney to create an amazing jewelry line inspired by Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland. McCartney is incredibly excited for the opportunity, telling WWD, “I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did. When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance.”
The collection is to be released in April and ranges from dresses to sneakers to t-shirts. Now as many people know, anything Stella McCartney is on the pricier side, but 10 percent portion of sales for the collection will go to SOS Children’s Vilages which is a relief organization to provide homes for children in need.
Amazing outfits for kids and its charitable? That’s magnificent.

Catch him in his other movies, Footloose, 21 and over and Project X !
Jennifer Lawrence, America’s most recent sweetheart, had all eyes on her on the red carpet Monday afternoon at the Los Angeles premiere of Catching Fire in a Dior Haute Couture ensemble. The slimming bodysuit, complete with sweetheart neckline and sheer dress to layer was completed with a simple, yet perfectly paired black belt and clutch to match. Stunning is a severe understatement and her chic new pixie cut heightened the edginess of the overall look. Two thumbs up to the Hunger Games hottie on an outstanding outfit.

(New York, NY | June 11, 2013) Rooftop Films is proud to co-host the New York Premiere of Meerkat Media Collective’s “Brasslands”, presented with Arts Brookfield as part of the River To River Festival 2013 on the waterfront of Brookfield Place (formerly World Financial Center). Featuring live performances by the Balkan brass bands Zlatne Uste, Slavic Soul Party!, Inspector Gadje and Raya Brass Band, this event will recreate the experience of the massive Serbian music festival that the film documents. The official Brasslands soundtrack will be released at the screening, courtesy of Evergreene Music, a New York-based record label with a rich catalog of world music. There will be no charge for admission.
Collaboratively made by the Meerkat Media Collective, “Brasslands” is a kinetic, character-driven feature documentary about the power of music to inform our identities, unite communities, and reach across political borders. Traveling from New York City concert halls to a tiny town in the heart of Serbia, the film explores the musical and cross-cultural complexities of Balkan brass music.
“This outdoor screening and concert is the culmination of a hugely collaborative process over the past four years that brought this film to fruition,” says the Meerkat Media Collective. “In a unique approach to documenting the sights and sounds of the world’s biggest trumpet festival from a diversity of perspectives, “Brasslands” was filmed simultaneously by 4 different crews, collaboratively written and directed by a team of 10 filmmakers, and funded via the tremendous support of over 400 individuals through crowd-funding campaigns. Meerkat Media has been making films in New York for 8 years, and is thrilled this unique concert will bring together thousands of New Yorker’s with our beloved city’s skyline as the backdrop. Brasslands is proud to partner with NY-based record label Evergreene Music who will be releasing the Brasslands soundtrack at the event.”
Rooftop teams up with Arts Brookfield and the River to River Festival to bring this screening and music festival to the waterfront of Brookfield Place. ““Brasslands” is proof that music has the power to unite people across political and cultural borders,” said Debra Simon, vice president and artistic director of Arts Brookfield. “Arts Brookfield is thrilled to partner with Rooftop Films to present this inspiring film and its accompanying Balkan music concert extravaganza.”

As Spring break is upon us and the movie Spring Breakers is here to motivate us to be in accomplice with a drug dealer named Alien, Opening Ceremony is going on a different approach. A collection that is inspired by each of the main characters of Spring Breakers is here! Even though I found that the attire in the movie was so called “slutty” or “trashy” it’s still a fun collection to look at!
All five of the main characters have their own specific symbol to represent them in the clothing line: a glow-in-the-dark alien (Alien), a pair of green dolphins (Brit), a pink marijuana leaf (Candy), hot pink dripping ice cream cones (Cotty), and an inverted purple cross (Faith) that are printed on sweatshirts, jerseys, bikinis, beach towels, and bandannas, priced from $20 to $90. There are also “HARMONY” and “SPRING BREAK 4EVER BITCHES” bracelets. The full collection hits Opening Ceremony stores in New York and Los Angeles and the Internet March 22.
So if you’re thinking of a way to start of your Spring Break, maybe this collection will do the trick.
Spring break forever bitches!
Designer, Catherine Martin has been known for her costume designs on the big screen for films such as Moulin Rouge, Australia, Romeo & Juliet (1996,) and now? The highly anticipated, “The Great Gatsby.”
Miuccia Prada and Catherine Martin collaborated designs and ideas for the upcoming film. The two have also shared and collaborated ideas with the director, Bazz Luhrmann. The film revolves around life in the 1920′s and fashion says the once the movie is released, the 20′s inspired outfits will make a huge comeback in 2013. The patterns, long pearl necklaces, headpieces, and flapper dresses… are we ready for this change in the fashion world? Fashionistas sure are! Most of us have been to a 1920′s themed party at one point, and it’s pretty exciting getting to be someone from that era for a night. So let the 20′s themed parties begin!
Looks like Katy Perry already got the memo:
Female lead, Carey Milligan who plays the role of Daisy Buchanan will wear the designs by Prada and of Martin’s collection. Male leads, Leonardo DiCaprio and Toby Macguire who play Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway will be wearing suits made by Brooks Brothers and more.
“Baz and Miuccia have always connected on their shared fascination with finding modern ways of releasing classic and historical references from the shackles of the past. This connection is central to our relationship with Miuccia Prada on The Great Gatsby, and has connected our vision with hers. In the same way Nick Carraway reflects on a world that he is within and without, we have tried to create an environment that the audience will be subconsciously familiar with, yet separated from.” – Catherine Martin
From March 8th to the 16th everyone from industries of music, film, emerging technologies and gaming all gather in Austin, Texas to showcase their work. The SXSW is definitely a place for discovery!
Sunday night the cast of “Spring Breakers” made an appearance for the premiere of the dangerous and scandalous movie of “Spring Breakers”. Harmony Korine comments about the casting for each of the characters that night “”I hired all the actresses in the film for all different reasons,” Korine said. “They were terrific and bold, but also, in a lot of ways, in real life, representative of this pop mythology. They were all at a point in their lives where they were ready to experiment and push themselves. Lucky for me they did.”
Aren’t we so glad that Korine made this decision, if he didn’t we would probably still be seeing Selena Gomez casting spells on Waverly Place. It is an appreciative look for all the actresses to come out of their shell and do a role that suits more for their age and where they want to move forward in their career.
Of course how can we forget about James Franco in his role as the dangerous drug leader, we’ve also never seen this side of him, he’s always been the hero but never the bad guy. From Oz The Great and Powerful his character saves the magical world of Oz from evil. but now in his new role we see him tackle 4 young girls under his wing to bring them to wild adventures.
Spring Breaker’s release date have now been pushed up by one week and now it comes out March 15th only in Los Angeles and New York cinemas.
