Opening Ceremony X Spring Breakers

As Spring break is upon us and the movie Spring Breakers is here to motivate us to be in accomplice with a drug dealer named Alien, Opening Ceremony is going on a different approach. A collection that is inspired by each of the main characters of Spring Breakers is here! Even though I found that the attire in the movie was so called “slutty” or “trashy” it’s still a fun collection to look at!

All five of the main characters have their own specific symbol to represent them in the clothing line: a glow-in-the-dark alien (Alien), a pair of green dolphins (Brit), a pink marijuana leaf (Candy), hot pink dripping ice cream cones (Cotty), and an inverted purple cross (Faith) that are printed on sweatshirts, jerseys, bikinis, beach towels, and bandannas, priced from $20 to $90. There are also “HARMONY” and “SPRING BREAK 4EVER BITCHES” bracelets. The full collection hits Opening Ceremony stores in New York and Los Angeles and the Internet March 22.

So if you’re thinking of a way to start of your Spring Break, maybe this collection will do the trick. ;)

Spring break forever bitches!

#ThatFashionThing 2013 Meets 1920

Designer, Catherine Martin has been known for her costume designs on the big screen for films such as Moulin Rouge, Australia, Romeo & Juliet (1996,) and now? The highly anticipated, “The Great Gatsby.”

Miuccia Prada and Catherine Martin collaborated designs and ideas for the upcoming film. The two have also shared and collaborated ideas with the director, Bazz Luhrmann. The film revolves around life in the 1920′s and fashion says the once the movie is released, the 20′s inspired outfits will make a huge comeback in 2013. The patterns, long pearl necklaces, headpieces, and flapper dresses… are we ready for this change in the fashion world? Fashionistas sure are! Most of us have been to a 1920′s themed party at one point, and it’s pretty exciting getting to be someone from that era for a night. So let the 20′s themed parties begin!

Looks like Katy Perry already got the memo:

Female lead, Carey Milligan who plays the role of Daisy Buchanan will wear the designs by Prada and of Martin’s collection. Male leads, Leonardo DiCaprio and Toby Macguire who play Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway will be wearing suits made by Brooks Brothers and more.

“Baz and Miuccia have always connected on their shared fascination with finding modern ways of releasing classic and historical references from the shackles of the past. This connection is central to our relationship with Miuccia Prada on The Great Gatsby, and has connected our vision with hers. In the same way Nick Carraway reflects on a world that he is within and without, we have tried to create an environment that the audience will be subconsciously familiar with, yet separated from.” – Catherine Martin

Spring Breakers at SXSW

From March 8th to the 16th everyone from industries of music, film, emerging technologies and gaming all gather in Austin, Texas to showcase their work. The SXSW is definitely a place for discovery!

Sunday night the cast of “Spring Breakers” made an appearance for the premiere of the dangerous and scandalous movie of “Spring Breakers”. Harmony Korine comments about the casting for each of the characters that night “”I hired all the actresses in the film for all different reasons,” Korine said. “They were terrific and bold, but also, in a lot of ways, in real life, representative of this pop mythology. They were all at a point in their lives where they were ready to experiment and push themselves. Lucky for me they did.”

Aren’t we so glad that Korine made this decision, if he didn’t we would probably still be seeing Selena Gomez casting spells on Waverly Place. It is an appreciative look for all the actresses to come out of their shell and do a role that suits more for their age and where they want to move forward in their career.

Of course how can we forget about James Franco in his role as the dangerous drug leader, we’ve also never seen this side of him, he’s always been the hero but never the bad guy. From Oz The Great and Powerful his character saves the magical world of Oz from evil. but now in his new role we see him tackle 4 young girls under his wing to bring them to wild adventures.

Spring Breaker’s release date have now been pushed up by one week and now it comes out March 15th only in Los Angeles and New York cinemas.

Fifty Shades Of Gosling?

Ever since there has been talk about making a film out of the steamy trilogy “50 Shades Of Grey,” fans have been dying to know who would play the scandalous role of Christian Grey.

Christian Grey is described as a tall, muscular, mysterious, and handsome business man with copper hair and dreamy grey eyes. Not only that, but he is only 27 years old and is extremely wealthy. By that description, fans have been dying for Ryan Gosling to play the sexy entrepreneur, and I agree. Gosling has always had that cool, calm, and collected vibe about him, and so does Mr. Grey. How perfect would he be for this role? I mean look at him. If it were up to me, the role would have been handed to him the day the book was published.

Now for the role of Anastasia Steele. Her character is described as a “pale, brown-haired, T-shirt, and converse” kind of girl. Kind of reminds me of Kendrick’s character in “Pitch Perfect.”  So anyone say Anna Kendrick for the role? By the looks of her twitter, we all know she would want nothing more than to play opposite of Gosling:

“Ugh – NEVER going to a Ryan Gosling movie in a theater again. Apparently masturbating in the back row is still considered ‘inappropriate.’” (@AnnaKendrick47)

I think these two would make lovely co-stars and perfect contenders for the two characters.

Anyone else have their picks for the highly anticipated film?

Harrison Ford for Anchorman 2

From playing the iconic role of Han Solo, Harrison Ford decides it’s time to brush off his comedic styles of acting by starring in a role in Anchorman 2 alongside the original cast members of the 2004 Anchorman (Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and another addition Kristen Wiig).

However as the plot of the movie is kept under wraps, while Ferrell and Adam Mckay writes more funny and unforgettable scenes we can’t wait for this movie to bring us to tears from laughter!

Rumors: Emma Watson in a Fairytale?

The clock strikes at midnight, her dress turns into a smock, her carriage transforms back into a pumpkin and as she runs down the stairs to avoid trouble from her step-mother her glass slipper slips on the stairs of the castle. As the Prince tries to run after her, she discovers her glass slipper and turns it into a clue for the love of his life. Sounds familiar?

We all know the romantic fairytale of Cinderella, and like every other fairytale that is being re-made right now. It has been rumored that Emma Watson famously known to cast spells in Hogwarts will play Cinderella in the big-screen re-make by Kenneth Branagh. The production is still in early talks to move forward with this idea, however it has also been said that Cate Blanchett will be casted as the step-mother.

However, this is still just all talk, Disney is also seeking other actresses to play the role of Cinderella such as Imogen Poots, Gabriella Wilde and Alicia Vikander.

Who will it be? I guess we just have to wait and find out!

New Poster For Iron Man 3

27 February, 2013 Film, Lifestyle, Top News 1 comment

On the coming of Iron Man 3 (May 3rd), Marvel have been releasing new posters for on going weeks, the first few were of co-stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow clenching on to the helmet to what is believed to be Tony Stark’s and Don Cheadle in a patriotic armor . However with this brand new poster coming to light, we see an army behind him like a war is about to begin. We hope as the this movie will be bigger than his last, we would want an army to stand by his side while he fights the battle.

Showing the extended trailer during the Super Bowl we are all expecting a big bang to this ending.

[Film] The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard

If you’re familiar with the Internet, you would know torrents are one of the most accessible ways to share files, peer-to-peer. One of the biggest sites doing this was The Pirate Bay, who got caught in a $13 million in damage claims lawsuit with Hollywood and the media industry over copyright infringement materials on their site in 2008.

Over the course of four years, TPBAFK followed the three founders (Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij and Gottfrid Svartholm) through their journey battling the system, starting the day before their first court date. Peter, Fredrik and Gottfrid struggle with not living life online, even though their headquarters continued running in Sweden at a secret location.
