H&M has declared that it will be raising the wages of its workers, which had us raising eyebrows. H&M is well-known for being the go-to place when you want something cute and fashionable, but don’t want to have to empty your bank account for it. Fortunately a rep from H&M stated this week that though pay rates for the companies workers is increasing does not necessarily mean that the price of the affordable clothing will increase. He also explained there are many factors to the way a business function, the way those factors correlate with one another and this particular factor, as well as my wallet, may remain unaffected. Phew…. Good news, I can still pay my bills even if I binge shop…

Whoever said that fashion is expensive, definitely has never gone to H&M. And when things look like they can´t get any better, in fact, they can. How do we know this? That´s simple. We call it: collaborations.
After Versace, Margiela, and the amazing Anna Dello Russo collection, now it´s time for Isabel Marant to become H&M´s new favorite. The designer´s first men´s collection is ready to hit stands and every guy should go and get in line to get as many pieces as possible. Efortless, relaxed and full of freedom, that´s Marant´s style. For this collaboration, the designer created shirts with interesting cuts, skinny jeans, boots and oversized sweaters. C´mon guys! Wanna be on the best-dressed-men of the month list? Go get some Marant.
Whether we’re at work, at dinner or shopping at The Grove, a big black bag will never fail you. Just as the big black bag, it can never be seen as too overdressed or too underdressed!
Here’s just a few of our favorites from high to low price points:
Saint Laurent $2950.00
3.1 Phillip Lim $875.00
H & M $29.99
Gisele Bundchen recently took to her Instagram for a sneak peak of her new fall campaign for H&M! Lately, the Swedish retailer has been star studding their campaigns with their most recent summer campaign being Beyoncé in a sexy bikini bod. Up until recent years, campaigns would debut in magazines but more and more campaigns and collections are now being brought to us by social media for the tech savvy generation!
Here’s your peak at shearling vests and cozy knitted whites!
I am probably the biggest online shopping whore that you will ever meet. UPS and Fed-Ex can probably get to my house without a GPS now, sadly. So if you are like me, AND you live in the U.S. you know that H&M never gave U.S. shoppers the opportunity to shop through the web. Talk about first world pains. But no need to worry anymore, because H&M lovers, such as myself, can now be lazy and shop in sweats with an online H&M shopping bag.
Here is a little preview of what you will see once you enter the website and begin your online shopping spree.
We’re always excited for updates on H&M collabs with our favorite designers! The Swedish fast fashion house took to Twitter this morning to gift us with a sneak peak of their Isabel Marant x H&M line, starring Isabel Marant herself! She’s gowned in a signature Marant-y, free flowing dress with hints of tribal print and tasseled black boots (please tell me those are a part of this collab).
Though the collection won’t be out till November 14th, we can only hope for more of sneak peaks to come!
Ladies and gents, hold on to your Marant Booties, because the French designer is coming to an H&M near you! Yep, you heard it right, Isabel Marant will be featured as H&M’s latest -and possibly most celebrated- collaborator, according to vogue.com. The collection will consist of clothing and accessories for women, as well as Isabel’s first attempt at men’s and childrenswear-arriving in 250 stores worldwide on November 14th. As if the fashion deities have heard all of my prayers, the collection will be sold online as well (hash tag; nextlev).
Ms. Marant states, ” I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour,” Marant said this morning. “I aim to create something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality.”
H&M’s coveted collaborations have sold out almost immediately in the past with luxury labels and brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Marni, Lanvin, and Versace. We can’t wait to see what industry favorite, Isabel Marant has in store for us! One thing I know for sure is that French girls never looked so chic. Thoughts?
As one of the most prominent fast fashion retailers in the world, H&Mmanages to consistently stay on our “nice” lists! After promising to ensure safer work conditions in Bangladesh, the company’s most recent campaign includes a pledge to feature more healthier models.
“We want to show diversity in our advertising and not give people the impression that girls have to look a particular way. By and large, I think we’ve succeeded: we’ve many different kinds of models from different ethnic backgrounds. In our last campaign we had a somewhat more buxom model, and now we’re using Beyoncé, who’s a bit curvier as well.”
Kudos to H&M for healthier ads and models!
H&M is the world’s second largest retailer for apparel, just behind Zara, but H&M might just swipe that number one spot after their next maneuver. The fashion firm will be partnering with the Swedish Olympic team in the upcoming 2014 Winter games and the 2016 Summer games, where the team will be clothed in H&M sportswear for the opening and closing ceremonies. Not only will H&M provide clothing for the ceremonies, but also for the athletes training and down time.
After the Summer 2012 Olympics in London, the world saw the U.S. strut their stuff in their Ralph Lauren gear, and I’m sure Ralph Lauren sales hit the roof after that type of publicity. H&M is planning on expanding their sports collection, and there is no better way to do that than teaming up with Olympians. Billions of people in 200 different countries tune in to the Olympics, and is known to be the biggest sporting event in history, so everyone’s eyes will be on H&M clothing once Sweden takes their walk with the torch.
And that’s not all H&M has up their sleeves, they will also be partnering with British Soccer player, and model phenomenon, David Beckham, for and underwear collection. I won’t be surprised if H&M takes the number one spot on the largest apparel retailers list after these two endeavors
Just as Beyoncé heads out for her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour today in Serbia, H&M‘s newest campaign featuring the Bey, has us feeling summer again! The 31-year old mom shows off her stunning belly-pierced bikini bod along with gorgeous Bahama scenes. “What makes these [H&M] pieces even more special is that Beyoncé herself had input into the design, and they are full of her own personal style,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson (head of design at H&M).
The pieces will be available at H&M this coming May so don’t miss out on your chance for some Bey approved apparel!
