Free D&G!

So rumor has it that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, masterminds behind the fashion line, “Dolce & Gabbana,” have avoided paying taxes, in which they might be put behind bars. Back in 2004, the two sold their “Dolce & Gabbana, and D&G brands to a separate company based in Luxemburg, which is when the tax evasion was suspected. Nothing is set in stone, but the designers have denied any sort of participation with the evasion.

Um, excuse me? Not guilty! I don’t want my favorite designers to have to put a hold on their creations for the next two and a half years! Their talented minds are made for the studio. Free D&G!

#OBSESSED: Anna Kendrick

Before Anna began appearing in films, she was actually found on Broadway, and even won her first Tony award for one of her performances. The first time I saw Anna Kendrick on the big screen was in the movie “Twilight,: where she played the role of Jessica. After the movie premiered, fans went haywire, and ever since, Anna has been everywhere! Just one year after, she appeared in FIVE, yes, five, more Hollywood films, and her career has been nothing but successful. One of her most respected roles was when she starred in the movie “Up In The Air,” alongside George Clooney, where I am sure some jealousy arose from the Clooney lovers. But on a more recent scale, one of my favorite movies that Anna has starred in would definitely have to be the movie “Pitch Perfect,” I mean, who knew she could sing, too! This girl has it all. She is a natural when it comes to the stage, and the audience loves her, so get ready to catch her on the big screen in the near future, because she has quite a few films up her sleeve.

L.V Gives Jurassic Treatment

Dinosaurs are having a fashion moment, and as if you didn’t think the influences of the stylized industry could get any crazier…it’s safe to say that this may have pushed the envelope. Today, Louis Vuitton revealed its new window installations featuring something a little different from the former brightly hued works of eccentric artist, Yayoi Kusama. Instead the brand has opted for a pre-historic vibe including sparkly gold skeletons of some of the most recognisable dinosaurs, such as a kindly Stegosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex. Amid the giant gold reptiles are bags from Autumn/Winter 2013 and clothing from the Pre-Fall collection. It’s been stated that the dino-chic windows were inspired by a trip to the Natural History Museum in Paris’ Les Jardins des Plantes. Seven stores worldwide—including the boutiques on Paris’ Champs Élysées, London’s New Bond Street, and New York’s Fifth Avenue— will host the jurassic style makeover.

With rumors swirling about whether Marc Jacobs will renew his contract in 2014, Louis Vuitton seems to be a pretty heavy topic of conversation. Any friendly extinct creature that can rep a full on L.V look is totally dope in my book (slightly cray cray, but I’m always game for whatever the house brings to the table).

I’d say, the future for Louis Vuitton is looking pretty dino-mite.

Lucy Hale Becomes MARK Cosmetics’ Beauty Ambassador

Lauren Conrad and Ashley Greene, two beauties who once represented Mark Cosmetics have now passed the crown over to 23 year old, Lucy Hale! Lucy is best known for her role as Aria Montgomery on the hit T.V. show, Pretty Little Liars, which premieres its fourth season, tonight! Now that she has become Mark Cosmetics newest beauty ambassador, we will be seeing a lot more of her, and I don’t mind it at all!

“I’m incredibly proud to partner with a brand that is as passionate about empowering women as I am. I’ve been a fan of mark’s products for years, but it was important to me to work with a brand that is truly about beauty on the inside and the outside.” Lucy truly is a beautiful person on the inside and out, and she is a perfect role model for those who are fans of this cosmetic line. The official debut with Lucy and the brand will come out in August, when the brand celebrates their 10 year anniversary. Quite a special year for Lucy as the beauty ambassador!

3.1 Phillip Lim Resort Collection 2013

Phillip Lim took the love for floral as his inspiration for his 2013 resort collection. We see a variety of khaki colors, to black, white, beige, and even periwinkle blue. To top off the floral inspiration, a few of the skirts took the shape of a petal from a flower. Even though this is a resort collection for those who vacation, Lim described it as more of a “make believe staycation,” since people don’t always have time to vacation. Lim stated, “How do you take a vacation when you’re in the studio all night?” I hear ya, Phillip, with everyone having busy schedules these days, it’s almost impossible to find time for a vacation, even if it’s a short one. So the idea of a “staycation” sounds great to me. What do you all think about the resort collection for this year?

Kim & Kanye’s Baby Girl

Kim and Kanye have tried their best to keep the gender of their new baby a secret until the season premier of Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s, and after last Sunday’s episode aired, the world finally knew for sure. They are expecting a baby girl! According to Kim in last weeks episode of Keeping Up, Kanye has always wanted a girl. The two would go out and buy clothing for their baby, prior to the shows air date, but with paparazzi following them, literally everywhere, it was pretty difficult. To stump the paparazzi, they would either buy all white clothing, or boy’s and girl’s clothing.  Now i want to know what they’re naming her! So until now, it looks like we’ll have to wait a few weeks until new baby West enters the world.

#OBSESSED: Sofia Richie

Sofia Richie has recently been making her way under the spotlight, just like her big sister Nicole, so it must run in the family! She’s definitely following Nicole’s footsteps in the fashion area, because this 14 year old has some great style, better than I ever had at 14, that’s for sure. In a recent interview, Sofia shared, “Nicole is definitely my style icon, and she’s the best person to go shopping with. When I’m older, if I’m successful at everything, I want to come out with a clothing line.” Um, adorable!  Now as far as music, it looks like she is just like her dad, Lionel, in that sense. “I’m always in the studio with my dad. I’ve written a few songs. I’ll start off writing rhymes, then freestyles, then I add in beats.” Lionel wants her to wait until she is older to begin her career goals, and Nicole advises her to enjoy her childhood while she still can. Sofia is taking their advice, but this girl is dreaming big, and there is no doubt she will accomplish them one day.

Lily Aldridge Speaks Out About Photoshop

Everyone knows Lily Aldridge as the beautiful Victoria’s Secret angel that lacks any sort of flaw, but this just in: LILY ALDRIDGE HATES PHOTOSHOP! Recently, she has stated her dislike for the program and the industries use of it, because they have a tendency to “go crazy” with the editing. It’s almost impossible to come across a photo in today’s society that has not been re-touched in some way. Whether it be a change in eye color, a smaller nose, or a trimmed down waist, a non-edited photo is hard to come by these days.

“I honestly don’t like Photoshop. I think that when people Photoshop things, all of a sudden you’re like, ‘That’s not even me anymore.’ It takes away the natural beauty of a person.” You go girl. There is nothing more empowering than someone speaking out about the beauty of natural beauty. Many tend to view Victoria’s Secret models as the perfect examples of what everyone should look like, but even they admit that they don’t look like that.

“I have a gap in my teeth and sometimes people take it away. But I’m like, ‘I love my teeth.’ You know, that’s fine, but don’t go crazy.” Don’t worry, Lily, we love your natural smile, and we love that you love it, too.

So the next time you’re flipping through your Victoria’s Secret catalog, thinking, “I wish I looked like that,” just remember, the exact models in that catalog are wishing the same exact thing.

Ted Baker Named “Brand Of The Year”

At the 2013 UK Fashion and Textiles (UKFT) Awards, British based designers were being recognized for their hard work in the fashion industry. While many designers and businesses were nominated for awards, and won some, the main award we all looked forward to was “Brand Of The Year,” which went to Ted Baker. The brand has been around for the past 25 years, thanks to the founder, Ray Kelvin.

Ray Kelvin has previously explained how his brand came about, and the reason why he went with the name Ted Baker, instead of his own. “I didn’t want to use my real name. I thought I’d be a failure. I could have gone bankrupt, then my name would have always been associated with a failed company. I’m camera shy, too. That sort of thing isn’t what I’m about. Also, I’m ugly. I don’t want to see my picture everywhere. I’m funny though, which helps.”  Kelvin is an extremely humble human being, and whenever anyone takes a picture of him, he likes to cover his face because he admits that he doesn’t really enjoy the limelight. He did not create this brand for fame, or for recognition, he did this because he is truly passionate about men and women’s clothing.

Ray Kelvin approaches the work field a lot differently than most. The environment he creates for the people he works with is a friendly one.“I hug my colleagues every day. I hug the store staff, everyone. They’re all fantastic ambassadors for the brand. I make it my business to know everyone. I give them all nicknames, so I remember people’s names. I want to give them a real career, a “teducation” as we call it. It’s all just one big hug.” A positive environment for employees creates for more positive results, and I think this was a huge factor in the success Ray Kelvin had with his brand.
