“Rent The Runway” & Dress Like Beyonce
I’m sure everyone has wished they were Beyonce at some point in their life, but correct me if I’m wrong! Anyway, the Queen B has decided to partner with the online website,“Rent the Runway.” The site gives people the opportunity to wear actual designer dresses/gowns for a fraction of the price, by simply renting. The 31 year old fashionista has selected her favorite pieces for her “Beyonce Boutique range,” which will include, sequined dresses, jumpsuits, mini skirts, patterned outfits, and more. “Making women feel confident and beautiful is something I’ve always been passionate about. That’s why joining forces with Rent the Runway was so organic. It’s more than just access to beautiful clothes; it’s about making women look and feel their best.”
This is the perfect site for us fashionistas who love Beyonce’s style, especially because she has personally selected the outfits for the site.
Now does that mean I can call Beyonce my stylist?
FIRST EVER Giorgio Armani Café
What do I love almost as much as I love fashion? Fancy little Café’s, of course! I have always been obsessed with Café’s, and the fact that Giorgio Armani is opening its very own Café has made my entire life. Now, let’s not confuse this one with the “Emporio Armani Caffe,” because the two can easily be mixed up. The Café opening tomorrow in Cannes, Croisette, will serve a variety of Armani branded food and drinks. The menu will include things such as, Armani/Dolci chocolate, tea, and sparkling water.
Just next door will be a small Giorgio Armani boutique for those interested in shopping, after enjoying a nice lunch at the fancy little Café. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to hop on a plane to Cannes, Croisette just to eat at this Café.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Autograph Lingerie Line
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley may be a lingerie model for Victoria’s Secret, but this hottie has decided to launch her own line of sexy lingerie. Rosie partnered with M&S (Marks & Spencer) last Summer to begin this partnership for her vintage inspired autograph line.
“I was particularly drawn to the opulent elegance of the Twenties era which really shows in my designs from the sumptuous silks I chose to the intricate deco-inspired embroidery detailing on the garments. The palette was not only inspired by my favorite Twenties pieces, but also it was largely influenced by the rich colours of different types of roses. From the muted tones of dusky pink and green through to dramatic scarlet blooms, I wanted the palette to evoke the beauty of a gorgeous British garden in summer.”
For a little sneak peak of Rosie’s 2013 collection, take a look below of the photos she posted on her Instagram a few days ago. Do you love?!
Rosie explained that her line was thought of with women of all shapes and sizes in mind. This line is for anyone who just wants to look and feel sexy everyday. The line is made up of soft pastel colors for that girly feel. The soft bra cup is comfy and stylish, so it’s PERFECT for a relaxing Summer day when lounging around the house. I’m thinking of getting myself a pair of lingerie from her line just because I’ve always been a Rosie fan.
Diane Von Furstenberg Launches Swimwear Line For ROXY
London based designer, Diane Von Furstenberg, best known for her iconic “wrap dress,” has launched her new swimwear line for Roxy. Since the re-launch of her fashion company in 2007, she has reinvented herself, and her designs. The print trend has been around for a while, but it seems to have skyrocketed to popularity this year. In which case, Diane knew it was the perfect idea to design her own prints for the swimsuit line. Everyone loves their prints, and the perfect time to bring them out is during bathing suit season.
Here is a little preview of the new swimwear line for 2013:
And of course, you can always mix and match these bikinis to show off your own personal style!

Style Media is an entertainment company, and also a division of NBCUniversal, which includes television shows such as, “XOX Betsey Johnson,” Giuliana & Bill,” Jerseylicious,” “Tia & Tamara,” “Resale Royalty,” and “Big Rich Texas.” Their newest competition series will be titled “Styled To Rock,” where the talented Rihanna will work as the executive producer, and multi-grammy award winner, Pharrell Williams will work as the mentor to the contestants. Rihanna and Pharrell are two very fashionable individuals and they know exactly what to bring to the show.
President of Style Media, Salaam Coleman Smith was thrilled to welcome Pharrell as part of the team. “We are delighted to have Pharrell, who is a driving force in both the music industry and fashion world, serve as a mentor on ‘Styled to Rock. Pharrell’s unique aesthetic and commitment to individuality combined with Rihanna’s vision for this series will enable our aspiring designers to hone their craft and learn from the very people who set the trends.”
Detailed information about the series, provided by Style Media, is as follows:
“Styled to Rock” will give 12 up-and-coming designers the coveted opportunity to dress some of the biggest names in entertainment. Each week, challenges will push the designers to their creative limits when they are tasked with styling an A-list star. The celebrity guest-of-the-week will decide which designer best achieves their vision – and advances to the next level of competition. Faced with the threat of elimination, the remaining designers must meet with the three mentors to discuss where they fell short and ultimately, who will be sent home. In the end, one designer will be named the winner of “Styled to Rock.”
Condé Nast Fashion Library
Beginning June 15th, Condé Nast will be opening their very own version of a library for the Edinburgh Art Festival. This event will be called “Coming into Fashion: A Century Of Photography at Condé Nast.” Visitors will have the chance to view 100 year old iconic fashion photos, as well as an inside look into the Condé Nast archives. This sounds like Heaven for Fashionistas!
Exhibition curator, Nathalie Herschdorfer shared, “Mr. Condé Nast understood that a powerful cover would bring him more readers. The first Vogue covers are works of art. In the early twenties, he realized what the photographic medium could bring to his magazines. He was a man of his time and was looking ahead. He wanted to work with people who were talented artists and not necessarily good patricians. The vision of the photographer was recognized as a value, then the photographer was asked to adapt it to the magazine’s needs.” It is truly amazing to see how far the magazine has come through the years. There is so much history behind each photo that will be previewed during this event, and it is quite an opportunity to be given the chance to see all that Condé Nast has accomplished.
Amy Winehouse Exhibit Coming To London
This July, London will hold an exhibition in memory of our beloved, Amy Winehouse. The exhibit will be in celebration of the year she would have turned 30. This will also be a celebration of all that she did during her life and career. Amy was of Jewish heritage and it was something she was very proud of, so her family is hoping that this exhibit will show the meaning of that part of her life, to those who come. Amy’s brother, Alex Winehouse, who is also the creative director of the Amy Winehouse foundation shared, ” Amy was someone who was incredibly proud of her Jewish-Lodon roots. We weren’t religious, but we were traditional. I hope, in this most fitting of places, that the world gets to see this other side, not just Amy, but to our typical Jewish family.”
This event will run from July 3 to September 15 in Camden at the Jewish Museum, where her personal looks from her wardrobe will be on display, and well as many other personal items of Amy’s.
Maria Sharapova Covers Esquire Latin America
Olympic Tennis player, Maria Sharapova is showing off her athletic body, not on the tennis court, but on the cover of Esquire Magazine, Latin America. The words displayed next to the blonde hottie, read, “The God of Tennis.” I mean, she is known as the second best tennis player in the world!
Sharapova posed in a variety of swimsuits, and shot on location at Hermosa Beach, here in the beautiful California weather. With her hair done by Abir Auberge, and make-up done by Fiona Stiles, the sporty tennis player was looking like a beach goddess.
Britney Spears’ New Hot Bod
Our beloved Britney Spears strips down to her bikini for the cover of Shape Magazine!
The mother of two shares how she worked to slim down to the body she now loves. A few of her secrets on maintaining her hot bod are yoga and cardio. Twice a week, she takes exactly 90 minutes of yoga, as well as one hour of cardio, three times a week. With her work out regime, she has also been eating healthy. She drinks a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, while her dinner normally consists of chicken or fish, with a side of healthy veggies.
The motivation for it all is her upcoming show in Vegas, which opens this Fall, and will take place inside of Planet Hollywood. This is a show that I will definitely want to see! With her popular hits, and new sexy bod, I’m sure it will be a great one.
Fashion is Twinning
Imagine you just walked into a really important event, and all of your co-workers/ friends are there. You’ve arrived in a fabulous dress straight off of the runway from Mary Katrantzou’s latest collection, and your psyched to debut a personal interpretation of the piece. Except for one problem- you notice someone else is wearing the exact same dress. So you press the panic button.
Normally, you’d be mortified, right? We’ve all either been a victim or witness to such a sartorial offense, and know that in these types of haneously emberassing situations, a gal will go to great lengths to prove her originality when accidentally put into the “who wore it best” category ( ie. My Senior Prom, 2010- the time I showed up to the highly anticipated event, only to see another girl in the same gown I had on. Needless to say, we stayed on opposite ends of the room the entire night. Phew!)
Now picture the same occurrence happening, only this time, it ‘s at the mecca of all socially stylish events….Fashion Week. Well I’m here to tell you not to fret my friends because this year, fashion is seeing double, and let’s just say that outfit symmetry is totally considered cool these days! We’ve noticed a few of these unintentional mishaps over the past year, and never before has something that was once fashion taboo, been embraced with such open arms – or should I say photographers!? It all started when designer, Marc Jacobs sent his models in pairs down the Louis Vuitton, Spring 2013 runway. From then on, the serendipitous fashion moments are now viewed as the perfect opportunity for a photo-op (I swear fashion telepathy is real). From identical Opening Ceremony varsity jackets, to his and hers Nikes, fashion is twinning right now. So, my advice? Grab a style buddy, and duplicate.
