#LoveYourWork: Nicholas Paul Reihl

Twenty three year old, Nicholas Paul Rehil finds happiness through the art of creation. At the early age of 4, Nicholas spent much of his time with his grandmother, Martha Bartholomew (a well known artist and former president of Art Alliance) who introduced him to the artistic side of the world. He began spending most of his time in her art studio where he began creating art of his own, and he hasn’t stopped since. Where many artists approach their work with a specific idea in mind for what they want their audience to see, Nicholas approaches his work with a different and unique view. “I guess you can say I’m more interested in hearing what other peoples thoughts and feelings are when they see my pieces, for we all see things in a different perspective.” – Nicholas Paul Reihl

Nicholas looks forward to being inspired by new things and experimenting with different mediums for his work. He plans to travel to different parts of the world in hopes to be inspired by the people there and their culture.

”I believe art should never be forced nor rushed, It should be created with meaning and time.” -Nicholas Paul Reihl

Star-Studded Party With One of the Most Important Individuals in Photography: Timothy White!

Annex Magazine had the opportunity to get inside the amazing Timothy White’s head and attend an exclusive, star-studded Morrison Hotel Gallery party at the Sunset Marquis.

Timothy White began to get his feet in the industry through an incredibly gorilla style. His approach consisted of literally walking right into to some of the biggest companies like Rolling Stones which led to his big break! At a young age he took an interest in the lighting in cinematic graphic illusions taken by films evolving into his excitement about working with Hollywood celebrities. Those celebrities today consist of clients like Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, etc.. In working with these A listers he’s fostered long lasting relationships that have perpetuated his credibility. Having done shoots for Julia Roberts, magazine covers for Vogue, album covers for Aretha Franklin, and so much more his projects are like children, he doesn’t have a favorite but rather they’re all about experiences. Indulging in theses experiences  he still gets butterflies and nervous till this day!

Timothy White/The Morrison Hotel Gallery

Being recognized as one of the most important people in photography, to work with Timothy is a privilege. We asked him to give us a brief run down of what it’s like on his set. This is the Timothy set low down! -It’s about developing a comfort level connecting and distracting his subjects with interaction. Inside he’s a wreck but on the outside he exudes a calm feel. Questioning his subjects whether they are nervous, confident, into it, or what is their concerned about. Truly focusing on the subjects.

Earlier this month Timothy curated an evolving exhibition of rock n’ roll and sports fine art photography for The Morrison Hotel Gallery at the Sunset Marquis. He put on nothing short of a fabulous, exclusive, star-studded party.
