#FashionSays: Sheer Genius

After a surge of garments glided down the Spring and Fall runways, it’s safe to say that the very thin, very transparent fabric is back- and sexier than ever. Since sheer texture is almost completely see-through, it is imperative that you take extreme precautions before donning the lucid look. Save the “see my bra” top for a night out with the girls, and go for a sheer collar, or sleeve in the office. It is no secret that this trend can be extremely riskay if not paired with the proper undergarments, which is why adding a blazer, or fur topper like Saint Laurent did, is the perfect way to make the trend go from sexy to serious (nothing I love more than a double duty top). Is fashion telling us to show more skin?

#THATFASHIONTHING: Thin Ring Bling

Lately we’ve been enjoying the finer things in life! Whatever it is, thin, stackable rings bring a sense of classical simplicity to a look of freshly painted nails and monochrome outfits. The stacking and fitting is the fun part! Often worn on multiple fingers at once, each ring can be stacked or can be small enough to only fit the middle of your finger. Wearing a ring mid finger can also be a smart way to recycle dainty old rings that don’t fit anymore!  Delicate thin rings are such a feminine way to accessorize with endless ways to pair and play with each ring. We’re definitely in obsessed with this ever growing thin band trend!

#FASHIONSAYS: Suit Up

This Spring, it’s all about the alpha female, and what better way to bring out you’re inner dominant side than with a power suit! The matching pant and jacket combination comes in all different aesthetics to compliment your personal style; structured and lean, sexy and flirty, wide-leg or straight, and the list goes on! The pantsuit gives a super refined look for the office, but especially the red carpet- so let your cocktail dress take a back seat this season! Style icons such as Rachel Zoe, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Alba rock the androgynous look by adding a sweet touch with sky-high heels, and voluminous hair. This trend is one of my favorites of the season because it is extremely accessible glamour, sure to kick your wardrobe up a notch. Take notes from the pro’s ladies!

#FASHIONSAYS: #SELFHARMISNOTAJOKE

After a photo of 18 year old pop sensation Justin Bieber smoking marijuana was released a cruel hoax up roared to a trending topic. #CUTTINGFORBIEBER, a supposed protest against the star’s alleged drug use.

It appeared as if teens were cutting themselves as a way to voice their disproval of Bieber’s supposed actions, which initially was a complete joke. However an alarming amount of twitter users began using the hashtag alongside pictures of arms with actual self harm inflicted. Various accounts were tracked back to a group of pranksters but it’s not certain that all the posts were fake.

Insensitivity aside, there are potential severe repercussions from a prank of this nature. These images can potentially serve as triggers for those who already vulnerable or prone to self-injury, stated Janis Whitlock to The Huffington Post.

The trending topic hit hard that even celebrities like Miley Cyrus reacted tweeting that “cutting is not something to joke about”

Statistics show that one if four teenage girls try self injury. Annex agrees with Cyrus cutting is not something to joke about!

The National Pasta Association found that spaghetti is America’s favorite pasta. 1.3 million pounds of spaghetti were sold in U.S. grocery stores in 2000. That’s enough packages of spaghetti to circle the earth nine times when lined up. Thus we have National Spaghetti Day!

Fashion Says: Brand Beyonce Hits The Obama Front

When Mrs. Beyonce Knowles strutted around NYC last saturday in a pair of handmade $32 earrings by jewelry designer Erika Peña donning the Obama moniker, no one thought much of it. That is until the designer let it be known that just after a week of the Grammy winning singer sporting the accessory did her sales spike by almost 300%. Before Mrs. Knowles stepped out in them Mrs. Peña had sold just over 5 pairs and in the last week has now shot up to a whopping 1,300 pairs, showing the true Mega Brand that is Beyonce. The earrings have been shipped all over the world from Chile, Argentina, Switzerland, and England. Now if this will help Obama win the election coming soon no one knows, but the apparent winner right now is Mrs. Peña, because if the math on my fashion calculator is correct thats some real cheddar.

Fashion Says: Eyeball the size of a softball

A gigantic eyeball the size of a softball washed ashore in Pompano Beach, Fla.

It is thought to have come from a deep sea squid or a large swordfish.

The Internet and marine biology community has been buzzing about the eye since the commission shared a photo of it on its Facebook page. People are suggesting it came from everything from a giant squid to Bigfoot!
